Jim Minett

 A musical biography

Jim Minett's professional musical career spans over 20 years.  In 1977, Jim began performing as a pianist, playing jazz standards at local clubs and restaurants.  

From 1978-1983 Jim  was a member of  various  local bands, playing Top 40 hits and beach music.  It was during this time as an original member of the band "Shoreline", that Jim recorded his first record, "Oak Island In The Sun" which received radio playtime locally.  

In 1983, using the latest in electronic keyboards he started performing solo at many local restaurants and clubs, as well as for private parties.

In 1989, having discovered the appeal of recorded music through a professional sound system, Jim began his career as a professional “deejay”.  This enabled him to provide music that he was unable to perform as a solo act.  Since then, Dj Jim has played at many private parties, corporate events, and wedding receptions where he has provided Band/Dj combinations.  This format has been an overwhelming success.  Jim is one of the few musicians in our area that can provide such a broad variety of music.
